165,764 legacy subscriptions realigned for billing and revenue recognition
The challenge
Trimble's construction software business moved billing to NetSuite with Zone Advanced Billing and revenue recognition to RevPro, and Salesforce Revenue Cloud had to become the clean front end of that chain. Like any software company shifting customers from perpetual licenses and software assurance to subscriptions, Trimble needed migration deals to close out legacy subscriptions without breaking contracts, while uplift values sat in 4 overlapping fields across Opportunity, Quote, Contract and Subscription. The migration carried the weight of a large installed base: 2 legacy sources feeding subscription headers and items, legacy identifiers and bundle hierarchies, rates, discounts and uplifts to transform, and 5 subsidiaries for Finance to reconcile before cutover.
Why Trimble chose Acellas
Acellas had already built the ARR snapshot model behind the business's subscription reporting, so our Revenue Cloud architect knew its 3 core product lines, their bundles and their uplift logic from the inside. Trimble asked our experts for a billing and revenue recognition design built to scale, then extended the scope to migrating and transforming legacy data through SQL Server. Our team drew on two decades and more than 60 full lifecycle Salesforce Quote to Cash implementations.
Results
Acellas designed the Revenue Cloud side of the program so every contract reaches NetSuite and RevPro in ASC 606 and IFRS 15 compliant form. The design includes renewal pricing that sets list price from each subscription's exit rate and applies the contracted uplift, a Credit and Rebill process, performance-obligation tracking, a Pre-Billing Review dashboard and Jitterbit sync points. We automated migration deals across more than 50 mapped quote-line fields and built flows that open deployment cases from booked services. Our experts staged, mapped and reconciled legacy subscriptions for 5 subsidiaries in SQL Server and re-typed 165,764 software assurance subscriptions, so amendments, co-termed add-ons and renewals run automatically and auditably from one governed contract record.
What Acellas delivered
Migration and transformation automation
When a migration deal is contracted, automation writes negative subscriptions against the original contract across more than 50 mapped quote-line fields, flags them, breaks legacy links and retires them in a scheduled batch.
Legacy data migration and reconciliation
Acellas staged NetSuite and Salesforce subscription data in SQL Server, built 18 reconciliation tables and produced validated load tables for the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Installed base re-typed at scale
One zero-error load re-typed 165,764 Vista, ProContractor and Spectrum software assurance subscriptions as related products, and Acellas prepared 76,491 assets in the Staging sandbox.
Renewal uplift and pricing flows
Acellas consolidated uplift data from 4 overlapping fields through renewal-uplift and renewal-price flows, part of 332 automation changes across 16 flows.
Deployment cases from booked services
Flows open a deployment case from every booked services quote line and write the deployment date back to 3 records: the subscription, the asset and the quote line.
Data migration and transformation
Acellas migrated and transformed legacy subscription and billing data from 2 sources (NetSuite with Zone Advanced Billing and the existing Salesforce Revenue Cloud org), which our experts staged in SQL Server through a linked server. We mapped subscription headers and subscription items to the Zone Advanced Billing subscription model and regenerated load tables for rates, discounts and uplifts until each reconciled. We built 18 reconciliation tables, validation scripts for the US, UK, Canadian and Australian subsidiaries, a New Zealand reconciliation, deferred-revenue validation, and customer-ID and sales-order exception reports, and checked every load cycle against them. In Salesforce, one zero-error load re-typed 165,764 software assurance subscriptions, Acellas prepared 76,491 assets in the Staging sandbox, and migration automation maps more than 50 quote-line fields onto retiring subscriptions. Trimble's construction software business now quotes, renews, bills and recognizes revenue from one reconciled subscription base.
Business benefits
ASC 606 and IFRS 15 compliance
Trimble's contract and billing data are now ASC 606 and IFRS 15 compliant: every Vista, Spectrum and ProContractor contract reaches Zone Advanced Billing and RevPro with clean performance-obligation, term and uplift data.
Faster time to close
Construction software sellers and renewal reps get automated quote creation, instant pricing and automated approvals, so deals reach a booked, billable contract faster and reps spend their time selling instead of assembling quotes and chasing sign-off.
Governed discounting with audit trail
Salesforce Advanced Approvals routes discounts beyond the Discount Tiers through parallel and serial approval chains with a full audit trail, which sharply reduced out-of-policy quotes reaching the deal desk and shortened approval cycles.
Scheduled uplifts and ramps price themselves
Renewal quotes take list price from each subscription's exit rate and apply the contracted uplift, and multi-year deals carry stepped list prices for each contract year, so ramps and scheduled uplifts price automatically and renewal reps no longer key uplifts.
Auditable amendments, renewals and co-terming
Migration deals, amendments and renewals follow automated, auditable paths: negative subscriptions retire legacy software assurance against its original contract, and co-termed add-ons and renewals start from one governed contract record rather than manual rework.
One catalog, faster go-to-market
Vista, Spectrum and ProContractor offerings, bundles and prices live in one catalog and one pricing engine behind new-business and renewal quoting, so Product and Finance launch SaaS offerings, bundles and price changes through configuration without waiting on IT.
Operational benefits
Real-time revenue and order visibility
The Pre-Billing Review dashboard lets Finance clear exceptions in Salesforce before an order reaches Zone Advanced Billing or a customer invoice, and revenue dashboards show ARR, MRR, churn, pricing effectiveness and order status in real time.
Flexible software assurance at renewal
Re-typing 165,764 software assurance subscriptions as related products lets renewal reps edit quantity and price or down-sell software assurance on renewal quotes without rebuilding the parent bundle, so renewals reflect what each contractor actually keeps.
One uplift of record
Consolidating uplift values from 4 overlapping Opportunity, Quote, Contract and Subscription fields gives renewal reps, Finance and NetSuite one uplift of record, so renewal quotes, invoices and ARR forecasts agree.
Contract lifecycle inside Salesforce
Contract activation now creates amendment and renewal opportunities automatically, and Credit and Rebill resolves credit memos through a governed opportunity rebuild, so every contract moves from signature to renewal inside Salesforce with a complete history.
Services revenue follows actual deployment
Deployment cases open automatically from booked services, and case deployment dates flow back to subscriptions and assets, so Support and Professional Services start installs without hand-off email and Finance recognizes services revenue on the real deployment date.
One reconciled record, ready for AI
Reconciled legacy subscriptions for the US, UK, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand subsidiaries give Sales, Finance and Support one system of record for what each customer owns, and a trustworthy foundation for automation and AI agents.

1.17 million records aligned to 3 territory models
The challenge
Trimble sells Vista, Spectrum and ProContractor to new logos, migrating customers and an installed base. Like most software businesses expanding across products and segments, it kept coverage logic outside the CRM. Sales Operations maintained territory rules and zip-code assignments in a spreadsheet, management selected the top 50 accounts directly, and an open sharing model gave every seller visibility into every account. Re-territorying carried the usual risks of a large data change: rules spread across 1,154 migration zip rows and 108 three-digit zips, ERP go-live dates held in NetSuite, lead-to-account matches split between Traction Complete and Bizible, and 1.17 million records to re-stamp without interrupting a live sales team.
Why Trimble chose Acellas
Trimble already relied on Acellas for its Revenue Cloud and billing programs. Acellas works only with technology companies, brings two decades and more than 60 full lifecycle Salesforce Quote to Cash implementations and works as an extension of the client's RevOps team, so our experts started from a working knowledge of Trimble's 3 core construction ERP product lines.
Results
Acellas designed Salesforce Enterprise Territory Management with 3 North America territory models (New Logo; Migrations and ProContractor; Customer Sales), 12 rule sets and 84 territories whose rules key on state, zip, gross annual revenue and ERP, so assignment is now automatic, balanced and fair, and forecasts roll up by territory. We built a custom Territory Mapping object, batch automation that stamps each account's sales territory, and a nightly Viewpoint Customer flag that derives from subscription end dates. Our experts staged, test-loaded and reconciled territory values across accounts, contacts, leads and opportunities, and designed security so Trimble could move to private sharing, with opportunity teams protecting hold-over deals.
What Acellas delivered
Three-model territory design
Three North America models, 12 rule sets and 84 territories cover new logo, migration, ProContractor, Vista, Spectrum, Top 50 and non-ERP segments across 10 sales teams.
Territory data migration at scale
Acellas loaded and reconciled territory values on 164,893 accounts, 829,440 contacts, 98,939 leads and 77,624 opportunities, with account clean-up passes of 18,603 and 277 rows.
Territory Mapping object
A custom Territory Mapping object holds a 654-row master of revenue bands, states and zips, and Acellas promoted 148 records from Staging to Production with 138 rep assignments.
Automated customer status
A scheduled batch sets the Viewpoint Customer flag from subscription end dates, replacing a manual definition, with 100% test coverage on the territory batches.
ERP Live account flagging
Our team flagged 2,670 legacy and 3,963 current ERP accounts as ERP Live, drawing ERP go-live dates from NetSuite, to drive migration and customer territory assignment.
Lead-to-account matching
Acellas linked 35,977 leads to their accounts from Bizible attribution and re-stamped territory on Traction Complete match sets of 38,260 and 3,298 leads, loading each set separately.
Data migration and transformation
Acellas transformed coverage logic that lived outside Salesforce into Enterprise Territory Management and re-stamped the live CRM. Sources included the Sales Operations rules workbook (12 rule sets, 1,154 migration and ProContractor zip rows, 108 three-digit mid-market zips), ERP go-live dates from a NetSuite export, Traction Complete and Bizible account matches on leads, and existing account ownership. Targets were Territory2 models and rules, a custom Territory Mapping object, and Sales Territory and ERP Live fields on Account, Contact, Lead and Opportunity. We cleansed accounts in passes of 18,603 and 277 rows, cataloged 192 inactive Current Software values, linked 35,977 leads to accounts from attribution data and split lead sets by match status. Test loads of 1,000 opportunities and 5 error-fix passes preceded full loads, which we promoted from Staging to Full to Production. Trimble now assigns, reports and forecasts from 1,170,896 territory-aligned records.
Business benefits
Faster, fairer account assignment
Assignment rules that key on state, three-digit zip, gross annual revenue and ERP place every new and existing account in the right territory automatically, so assignment is faster and fairer and rep changes no longer need bulk owner-change cases.
Balanced territories covering every account
Sales leadership balances workload across 84 territories and 10 sales teams, and coverage reporting flags any unassigned account, so every Vista, Spectrum and ProContractor customer and prospect has an accountable seller.
Territory-based forecasting
Forecasts roll up along the territory hierarchy, so sales leaders forecast new-logo, migration and customer pipeline by territory and region instead of by individual account owner, and Finance sees coverage and pipeline on the same structure.
Realignment through configuration
Sales Operations models and tests territory changes in a planning state and re-runs rules at each annual realignment, and the Territory Mapping object moves reps by editing mapping records rather than rewriting a spreadsheet.
ERP Live routes the right motion
Flagging current and legacy ERP customers as ERP Live routes migration-ready Vista and Spectrum customers to Migrations sellers and keeps live ERP customers with Customer Sales, so each seller works the motion the account actually needs.
One definition of an active customer
A nightly batch derives Viewpoint Customer status from each account's latest subscription end date plus a grace period, giving Sales, Marketing and Finance one definition of an active customer and keeping customers out of new-logo prospecting lists.
Operational benefits
Customer leads reach account owners
Linking 35,977 leads to their accounts from attribution data means inbound responses from existing customers route to the owning account team, and SDRs no longer prospect contractors who already run Vista or Spectrum.
Funnel reporting by territory
Every lead, contact and opportunity carries a sales territory with field history, so Marketing reports responses, MQLs, SQLs and pipeline by territory and state in Salesforce instead of reconstructing ownership by hand.
Access that follows coverage
The security design lets Trimble move from open sharing to territory-based private sharing, protecting sensitive account and case data, while opportunity teams keep hold-over deals visible to the sellers who own them.
Explicit coverage for top accounts
A Top Customer Account Owner designation and a dedicated Top 50 territory replace hand-picked ownership, so Trimble's largest strategic construction accounts carry explicit, reportable coverage that survives rep changes.
Coverage data AI can trust
Reconciled territory values on 1.17 million account, contact, lead and opportunity records give Sales, Marketing and RevOps one trustworthy view of coverage that reporting, routing automation and AI agents can rely on.

Suite-level ARR back-filled across 171,309 subscriptions
The challenge
Trimble measured value by aggregating the lowest-level component SKUs, and bundle header lines carried zero value by design to avoid double counting. That convention kept component ARR accurate, but it left Finance without a direct count of customers on 2 flagship suites, Vista ViewpointOne and Spectrum ViewpointOne, or the value each suite carried. For a software business that sells suites, bundle attach rates and bundle ARR shape pricing, packaging and growth reporting. Any fix also had to reach the installed base: 171,309 historical subscriptions carried bundle hierarchies of any depth, and a back-fill had to reconcile each one to its source quote line without disturbing renewals.
Why Trimble chose Acellas
Acellas had designed and built the ACV Snapshot model that already held the ARR history for Trimble's construction ERP business, with about 86,000 subscriptions in each snapshot. Extending that model to bundles let Finance keep one ARR definition across component and bundle reporting instead of reconciling two separate views.
Results
Acellas wrote Quote Calculator Plugin JavaScript in Salesforce Revenue Cloud that rolls Base ARR up into a Bundle ARR Value field on every non-component quote line, including nested and virtual bundle headers. The roll-up runs outside any pricing calculation, so quoting, pricing and approvals work exactly as before. We added 3 twin fields on the Subscription plus an uplifted formula that compounds each contracted uplift, and built a sync batch with 100% test coverage that back-fills subscriptions from their quote lines. Acellas extended the ACV Snapshot utility with the bundle fields and built reports and dashboards, so Finance sees suite-level ARR and MRR alongside component ARR in real time.
What Acellas delivered
Nested bundle ARR roll-up
Quote Calculator Plugin JavaScript rolls Base ARR into 2 header types, nested and virtual bundle headers, while component lines keep their own value.
Subscription twin fields
Three Subscription twin fields (Bundle ARR Value, Nested Bundle Header, Virtual Bundle Header) and an uplifted formula carry bundle ARR through contracting.
Zero-error installed-base back-fill
Acellas exported all 171,309 subscriptions, reset their quote-line sync flag in one zero-error load and back-filled bundle ARR from the source quote lines by batch.
Snapshot model extension
Acellas extended the ACV Snapshot utility and its 130 subscription-to-snapshot field mappings with bundle fields, so period-end ARR history reports bundle and component value together.
Data migration and transformation
Acellas transformed the installed base's ARR data inside Salesforce rather than from an external system. The sources were historical Revenue Cloud quote lines, whose Base ARR values sat under nested and virtual bundle headers of any depth, and the 171,309 subscriptions that contracting had created from them. The targets were 3 new Subscription twin fields, an uplifted Bundle ARR formula and the ACV Snapshot object, whose utility carries 130 subscription-to-snapshot field mappings. Our experts exported every subscription, reset its quote-line sync flag in one zero-error load, and ran a batch with 100% test coverage that recalculated bundle value level by level so no component counts twice. We reconciled bundle ARR to the source quote lines before period-end snapshots picked it up. Finance now reports suite and component ARR from one reconciled installed base.
Business benefits
Real-time suite ARR and MRR
Finance and leadership see ARR, MRR, churn and pricing effectiveness by suite and by component in real time, so Vista ViewpointOne and Spectrum ViewpointOne customer counts and suite value now inform pricing, packaging and board reporting.
Compliant data behind suite reporting
Implementing contract management, amendments and renewals made Trimble's contract and billing data ASC 606 and IFRS 15 compliant, and bundle ARR carries that compliance into suite reporting by rolling up from the same governed quote lines without double counting.
ARR that reflects scheduled uplifts
The uplifted Bundle ARR formula compounds each contracted annual uplift for every full contract year and switches to renewal price after the term ends, so suite ARR reflects ramps and scheduled uplifts exactly as contracted.
Quoting speed stays intact
The roll-up runs outside the pricing calculation, so ViewpointOne quotes still generate automatically with instant pricing and automated approvals, and reps sell suites exactly as before while every quote line records its bundle value.
New suites measurable at launch
Bundle ARR follows the catalog's own bundle structure, so Product teams launch new suites, bundles and price changes in one catalog and one pricing engine and see their ARR at once, without waiting on IT or a reporting rebuild.
One ARR definition
Component and bundle ARR derive from the same quote-line values and the same snapshot history, so Finance, RevOps and the board reconcile one ARR number instead of two competing views.
Operational benefits
Consistent suite trend history
Extending the snapshot utility's 130 field mappings with bundle fields means every period-end snapshot records suite value, giving leaders a consistent trend line for suite growth, expansion, contraction and churn.
Suite value through every amendment
Twin fields carry bundle ARR from quote line to subscription at contracting, so automated, auditable amendments, co-termed add-ons and renewals start from accurate suite-level recurring values.
Discount approvals see suite value
Salesforce Advanced Approvals governs ViewpointOne discounting through parallel and serial approval chains with an audit trail, and approvers now see the suite value each discount affects, which keeps approval cycles fast and decisions defensible.
Every customer's suites on record
Contract lifecycle management carries each suite's value from quote through contract, amendment and renewal, so renewal and customer success teams see which ViewpointOne suites every contractor owns and what each is worth.
Attach analysis across the installed base
Back-filling 171,309 historical subscriptions from their source quote lines gave the whole installed base, not only new deals, reportable suite ARR, so attach-rate and suite-penetration analysis covers every existing Vista and Spectrum customer.
Trustworthy data for automation
A reconciled, zero-error installed base gives reporting, automation and AI agents one trustworthy source for suite, bundle and component recurring-revenue questions.
